HMI Performance Incentives Gives Away Over $10k and Generates Excitement for Travel

February 11, 2021

For Immediate Release

During a time where travel isn’t possible, HMI worked with hotels to help reinvigorate travel dreams among voters in a bracket-type promotion.

NORWOOD, MA. February 11, 2021 – At the start of the year, HMI Performance Incentives launched the first ever Fuel the Dream: Travel Bracket Challenge. This promotion, put together with help from partner Teneo Hospitality Group, encouraged people to vote on which hotel destination was their favorite over a four-week period. By voting, participants were entered to win one of ten travel vouchers to the participating hotels. Each week, voters would return to pick the next set of hotels, those that had moved on from the round before.

The winning hotel was Kimpton Seafire Resort + Spa in Grand Cayman. Kimpton Seafire Resort + Spa was the only destination found outside of the continental U.S. The win suggests that travelers are ready to start exploring Internationally again. It was also very impressive, as it beat out some other extraordinary hotels such as Sanctuary Camelback Mountain Resort and Kiawah Island Golf Resort.

“The travel industry was greatly impacted by the COVID-19 virus in 2020, and this impact continues into 2021,” said Founder and President of HMI Performance Incentives. “Now, however, with a viable vaccine and hope for travel returning, this promotion has rekindled our love for travel and the impact that it can have on our mind, body, and soul. We’re very enthusiastic about the excitement created from this promotion and look forward to reintroducing more exciting travel promotions in the coming months. It is time for all of us to re-imagine our personal travel experience.”

The other participating Teneo hotels and resorts included Stein Eriksen Lodge Deer Valley in Park City, Sonnenalp Vail, Omni Mount Washington Resort, Snow King Mountain Resort and Spring Creek Ranch in Jackson Hole, Silverado Resort and Spa Rancho Bernardo Inn, Omni Amelia Island Resort, Sanctuary and the Villas at Kiawah Island Golf Resort, Windsor Court Hotel in New Orleans, Omni Nashville, Boston Park Plaza, Charleston Place, A Belmond Hotel, Sanctuary Camelback Mountain Resort in Scottsdale, 1 Hotel South Beach in Miami, and Hotel del Coronado.

“Teneo was happy to assist in this wonderful promotion of some of our incredible resorts and hotels domestically and in the Caribbean,” said Mike Schugt, President of Teneo Hospitality Group. “We are sensing tremendous optimism for the coming weeks and months. Engagement from clients and hoteliers is rising and our Teneo members are ready to host safe meetings again.”

Upon receiving their certificate for their hotel voucher, one participant of the promotion said, “Thank you very much and I am excited to schedule the trip… I could not be happier with our relationship…Thanks for all your support.”
